Who we are

The Templar Corps International is a group of men and women with a Templar background, organized locally in units spread across the world, ready to put their energy, passion and intelligence at the service of mankind.

Although it was created by the Secular Templar Order under the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem Universal, Templar Corps members come from a wide range of Templar Orders in over 25 countries, whose membership to a Templar structure is acknowledged and equivalent rank given for the service in the TCI. A significant number of members have come to the Templar Corps with no previous Templar connection of any kind – which is not required.

Serving the Templar Corps is not incompatible or a substitute to membership of any Order, Association or organization. It is the materialization of the service commitment of a true Knight at heart, a way to further develop the values and ethical aspirations that characterized the chivalry role model perpetuated in the old Holy Grail legends and other literary and historical sources.

The Templar Corps is  not about revising the past or resurrecting anachronistic ways of life. Instead, it’s about the future and how to, securely anchored in the best spiritual tradition of the past, with clear and present memory, live a life of fulfillment and achievement, pursuing the highest ideals of peace, truth and freedom.

What We Do

We Make a difference.

We show that the traditional values of Spiritual Chivalry can be lived in the 21st. century with the same valour and positive impact as they had in the past.

Give bread to those who are hungry, give hope to those who despair, give voice to those who are silent.

Unlike a traditional Order, vertical and highly hierarchical in nature, the Templar Corps International is an horizontal organization, managed as a network of highly motivated individuals run through nodes that roughly correspond to regional hubs.

These hubs run local projects, cooperate with projects run by other hubs and materialize in the real world, with real people, and real work, the conceptual aims of Spiritual Chivalry as inspired by the Order of the Temple and other traditional spiritual and historical sources.

These projects cover a wide range of traditional areas of interest, all with a Templar focus:

      • Charity, international aid and disaster relief
      • Historical research and publishing, scholarship, learning
      • Traditional crafts, professions and industries, including
          • Swordsmith, pottery, wood carving, …
          • Traditional arts, painting, sculpture, music, theater, literature, …
          • Farming, hospitality, pilgrimage support and aid, …
      • Ethical business, trading and technology
      • Entertainment, documentaries, film, digital media, …
      • Tourism, guided tours, spiritual retreats, …
      • Leadership training, self-improvement programs, advisory, …
      • Intellectual Property creation and management, …
.

Being part of the Templar Corps Service

Membership of the Templar Corps is opened to men and women from all nationalities, races, creeds and background. The Corps was established as a vehicle for the Templar community around the world to organize in SERVICE, with a Templar mindframe and the values of Chivalry at heart.

Therefore we call on all Templar Orders, branches, Priories, Brothers and Sisters in all parts of the globe, to cooperate as part of the largest Templar service body in today´s world. Get involved. Don’t stand on the side. Don’t read about being a Templar today. Do it.

Members of the Templar Corps that are Templars do not need to leave their original Templar affiliations. Quite by the contrary. The Corps is a way to express in the real world and live in real life the Templar ethos that all Orders embody.

For that reason, being an active member of an Order is an important complement to the projects and initiatives the Corps plays out in the real world.

Come and help real people, heal the sick, support the weak, impact with your faith and love the world of those who haven’t been as fortunate as you. Serving God by serving mankind is a true knightly motto.

What are you waiting for? Join now!

Affiliated and Supported Projects

All members of the Templar Corps can get involved with existing projects. Alternatively they may create new projects of their own, focused on the local community. Wider subjects are acceptable and not all initatives are non-economical in nature. The OFICINA TEMPLI under the FEYTORIAS project coordinates programs that require investment and may return income – although non-for-profit. That is the case of art workshops, traditional crafts (metal, wood, etc.), Intellectual Property based projects (literature, film, gaming, digital media, …) and others.

These new initiatives are coordinated under a Commandery, adding a node to the larger network of Templar activities.

DESCRIPTION:
THE TEMPLARS IN CROATIA – MONOGRAPH

Croatia has a centuries-old Templar tradition, which is quite unknown to the general public. There are remnants of the vast Templar heritage throughout the country that has yet to be valued, studied and revealed.

Croatian Order of Knights Templar, association and fraternity, plays a key role in Croatia regarding the preservation and promotion of this heritage. A museological early initiative was undertaken in 2019 with the inauguration of the Headquarters and Templar Interpretation Center in Zagreb and an exhibition with the reproduction of some of the most relevant documents and the presentation of a first study by Marija Karbic Phd and Damir Karbic Phd from the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Department of Historical Sciences. Meanwhile an abundant archive material was collected from museums and archives in Rome, Budapest, Vienna and from the archives of the Zagreb Archdiocese and Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The collected material has not been presented to the public so far and will be used extensively in the new Project.

At the same time the leading Croatian academic historians and scientists were gathered around the Project. Their recognized expertise regarding these subjects is key to clarify and write the Templar history in this part of Europe and value the preserved Templar heritage on Croatian land.

The final result will be a monumental Monograph dedicated to the history of Templars in Croatia. After pictorial materials and historical documents have been collected, the making of the scientific paper is in progress, which will be followed by the graphic design of the monograph. The planned publication date is the end of 2020, when it should be presented to the Croatian and European public, first in Croatian and then in English language.

The Project requests the fraternal help and the involvement of other sympathizers of the sacred Templar medieval tradition to assist in collecting funds to publish such a historically important literary work.

INTERNATIONAL

RESEARCH / ARCHIVE / MUSEUM
PROJECT: GEOGRAPHICA

DATE: 2021 and onwards
COUNTRY: INTERNATIONAL

DESCRIPTION:

The Geographica Project was the first International research Project promoted by the OSMTHU after the International Conference of Tomar in 1995. The main objective was to create a comprehensive repository of information on Templar related sites in Europe.

Members of the Order from Spain, France, England, Italy and Portugal contributed with many references, texts, photos and maps culminating with an exhibition in the Real Colegio de Abogados of Alcala de Henares in 1999 alongside an exceptional collection of books about the Order.

Technology has advanced a lot in the last 20 years. It’s time to bring the Geographica Project to the new century, using the power of the internet and cross border collaboration to create the ultimate Templar Site Database.

We want to include interactive maps, pictures, blueprints, digitized documents, digital renderings of long lost buildings, pointers to museums, collections and private sources, text entries with chronological references that go back to the original Order to most recent events (including the Templars in Popular Culture, film, legend, etc.).

> Research, write entries, send photos and documents
